Crawley, UK, October 25, 2018 – Macro 4, a division of UNICOM® Global, will be discussing the role of the mainframe as an enabler for a host of emerging technologies – as well as exploring how many of the same technologies will play a key role in modernizing mainframe user experience – when the company takes part in the GSE UK Conference on November 5–7.
Macro 4’s Keith Banham, Mainframe Research and Development Manager, and Neil Evans, Chief Technology Officer, EMEA, will present a keynote charting the mainframe’s ‘seven ages’, reviewing the platform’s past highlights, as well as its current and future role embracing new technology such as blockchain, machine learning and the Internet of Things in ‘The seven ages of mainframe’ at 08:30 on Wednesday, November 7.
Neil Evans will also explore how web, mobile, AI, chatbots, machine learning and analytics are being integrated with mainframe systems to help organizations improve user experience, maximize productivity and accelerate skills transfer in ‘The human face of the mainframe: using emerging technologies to foster greater technical collaboration’, at 10:30 on Tuesday, November 6.
Keith Banham said, “We’re looking forward to catching up with everyone at the GSE annual conference again. It’s a great opportunity for the mainframe community to come together to discuss exciting trends and developments that affect us all. This year we’ve got some really interesting new things to talk about including our vision of how emerging technologies will play a vital role in modernizing the mainframe user experience.”
Alongside the conference Macro 4 will be on stand 27 in the Grand Prix suite. Visitors will be able to find out about more about the company’s mainframe modernization solutions including the new UNICOM® Universal Gateway: a web-enabled dashboard environment that makes it easy to access and interpret mainframe systems data, collaborate on problem resolution, and produce high quality management information.
