Macro 4 to showcase modernization solutions and support for Women in IT

Crawley, UK, October 18, 2022 - Macro 4, a division of UNICOM® Global, will demonstrate its solutions that help companies drive innovation and digital transformation on the IBM zSystems platform during the 2022 GSE UK Conference from November 1st to 3rd.

This year’s GSE UK Conference returns to Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire as a fully in-person event. The conference theme ‘Mainframes are MAD – Modern, Adaptable, Diverse’, focusses on the strengths of zSystems as a fast, secure and resilient platform, ‘the core of trusted digital experiences’ and a foundation for hybrid cloud.

At the conference, Macro 4 will discuss how its zSystems software solutions are helping enterprises to modernize the user experience, leverage and secure enterprise data, and accelerate application development.

The conference attracts zSystems experts from around the world who come together to share knowledge and support the mainframe community. UNICOM Global EMEA CTO Neil Evans will be participating in the executive stream, while Macro 4’s Michelle Harris and Dolly Popat will run a session in the Women in IT stream: “Women in the mainframe world – yes we exist and are thriving!”

Michelle, who heads up the zSystems R&D operation at Macro 4, said, “I am really looking forward to speaking at this year’s GSE conference. Dolly and I want to encourage more women into mainframe IT and so we will be sharing our own positive experiences of working with zSystems, together with tips for success that we’ve learned along the way.”

Throughout the conference, Macro 4 will showcase its solutions for mobile session management, data management and performance tuning. The company will also demonstrate its web, VS Code and Eclipse interfaces, which provide a modern alternative to 3270 for developing, testing and working with mainframe applications.
